Is Carnival’s New Cheers Zero Changing the Classic Cheers Package?
When Carnival Cruise Line announced the launch of its new Cheers Zero Proof package, many cruisers started asking the same thing: what does this mean for the existing Cheers package? Does the regular Cheers option still include energy drinks, specialty coffee, sodas, and all the non alcoholic extras that guests love? Let’s take a closer look.
What is Cheers Zero Proof?
Cheers Zero Proof is Carnival’s brand new non alcoholic drink package. Priced at around $29.99 per person per day when purchased before sailing (and about $34.99 onboard), it fills the gap between the budget friendly Bottomless Bubbles soda plan and the full alcoholic Cheers package.
It includes:
- Coca Cola sodas
- Juices
- Bottled water (still, sparkling, and coconut)
- Specialty coffees and teas
- Zero proof cocktails (mocktails)
- Alcohol free beer and sparkling wine (21+)
- Frozen non alcoholic drinks
- Smoothies and protein shakes
- Milkshakes
- Energy drinks
It’s available for pre cruise purchase now and will roll out onboard for sailings departing from September 15, 2025 onward.
Is the Cheers Package Changing?
The good news is that the original Cheers package is not changing at all. It remains Carnival’s all inclusive alcoholic and non alcoholic drink plan.
With Cheers, guests still get:
- Up to 15 alcoholic drinks per day (beer, wine by the glass, spirits, and cocktails priced $20 or under)
- Unlimited sodas, coffee, juices, energy drinks, milkshakes, and mocktails
- Discounts on higher priced wines, bottles, and certain onboard classes or events
And just as before, non alcoholic beverages included in Cheers do not count toward the 15 drink daily alcohol limit.
Final Thoughts
If you love alcohol free options like specialty coffee, smoothies, energy drinks, and mocktails but don’t want to pay for the full Cheers package, Cheers Zero Proof is a smart middle ground. But if cocktails and wine are a must on your vacation, the original Cheers package remains the all inclusive go to option.
Both packages now give cruisers more flexibility than ever to enjoy their vacation their way.
